Dear Dhamma friends,
Vassa season is coming to an end. The three month rains retreat is significant in Sri Lanka, where monks remain meditating within a monastery and leave its grounds only if necessary.
Bhante Ānanda spent the Vassa season at the monastery, secluded in the forest. And it is with much joy that we announce that, on the 11th of October, after the pāvarana ceremony, the closing gathering of the rains, he will depart to teach retreats in India.
Bhante will be teaching at the Bodhgaya retreat, the awakening place of the Buddha, then move on to a retreat in Yavatmal, in the state of Maharashtra, to finally finish with the retreat in Kalimpong, in the foothills of the Himalayas in West Bengal. Below is the itinerary of Bhante’s retreats in India:
