SN 1.24 Holding the Mind Back

“From this and that,

the mind should be held in check,

Then, no trouble can arise

With a mind which is held back from everything,

One is liberated from trouble. “

“No need to hold the mind back from everything,

Not a mind which has become well mastered

From whatever is unskillful,

From this, the mind should be held in check.”[1]

Tato tato mano nivāraye”ti.
