AN 6.103 Unlimited Perception of Trouble

Ukkhittāsika Sutta

“Monks, considering six benefits is enough

to make the perception of trouble towards all mental activities

established and unlimited.”

What six?

(1) The perception of disillusionment from all activities

will be developed and firmly established,

Seeing them, as a murderer with drawn out sword; [1]

(2) My mind will rise above the whole world;

(3) I will become one who sees Nibbāna is peaceful;

(4) My reactional tendencies will come to be rooted out; [2]

(5) I will become one who fulfills his duty; [3]

(6) and I will attend to the teacher with Loving benevolence. [4]

“Monks, considering these six benefits is enough

to make the perception of trouble towards all mental activities

established and unlimited.”
